CALCULATING GROUND STATE ENERGY OF HELIUM BY USING VARIATIONAL MONTE CARLO METHODS

Abstract

Metode variasional Monte Carlo adalah suatu metode gabungan antara metode variasional dan montecarlo. Dalam metode tersebut, proses penghitungannya berdasarkan  atas pengevaluasian sebuah integral dengan sampling integral menggunakan pembangkit bilangan acak. Metode ini memiliki kehandalan dalam menyelesaikan integral berdimensi tinggi untuk kasus banyak benda serta pemilihan bentuk fungsi gelombang coba (trial wave function) dapat dilakukan secara fleksibel. Dengan menggunakan metode  variasional Monte Carlo ini telah dihitung energi keadaan dasar helium, dari hasil penelitian diperoleh energi keadaan dasar helium adalah -77.6748 eV. Hasil ini sesuai dengan hasil kajian secara teoretik.
