Extraction of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) using n-hexane as solvent in batch extractor has been performed. The objective of this research was to evaluate parameter that came up in a mathematical model. The parameter that would be evaluated was transfer mass coefficient (Kca). The experiments were carried out in a three necks glass as an extractor equipped with thermometer, mercury mixer, heater, and water cooler. The extraction processes temperature was 67O C. Samples withdrawn at every 30 menit interval. The evaluation of CNSL in the samples were measured with gravimetry method. The evaluation of experimental data shows that the mathematical model proposed can describe the CNSL extraction. The transfer mass coefficient was related with affected variables by
This equation was valid for ratio weight of seed to solvent volume range 40gr/300ml to 80gr/300ml and speed of agitation was 400 – 800 rpm.
