Analisis Potensi Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa sebagai Objek Wisata Edukasi Sejarah

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the potential of the Ambarawa Railway Museum as a historical educational tourist attraction. This research is qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach. The data sources for this research include data and information obtained from the management of the Ambarawa Railway Museum, informants (managers of the Ambarawa Railway Museum), locations (Ambarawa Railway Museum), and documents (visitor data, museum collection catalog books, profiles of the Ambarawa Railway Museum, Curriculum Syllabus 2013, and Learning Achievements of the Independent Curriculum). The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques, observation, and document analysis. The validity test technique used is data triangulation and method triangulation. Data analysis using interactive analysis techniques. The results of this study are as follows. First, the Ambarawa Railway Museum is the largest complete active railway museum in Southeast Asia, which contains a collection of railways during the Dutch East Indies period. Second, the Ambarawa Railway Museum can be developed as a historical educational tourist attraction. Third, the Ambarawa Railway Museum can be used as a source of history learning in schools because there is compatibility between the museum's collections and the school's curriculum.
