Pemaknaan Konsep Nrimo Ing Pandum Dalam Kehidupan Abdi Dalem Kraton Kasunanan Surakarta

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe: 1) the concept of nrimo ing pandum in the Kasunanan Surakarta palace, 2) the meaning of the nrimo ing pandum concept in the life of the servant of the Kasunanan Surakarta Palace, 3) the realization of nrimo ing pandum concept for the servant of then Kasunanan Surakarta Palace. The research used a qualitative descriptive method. Data and sources were primary and secondary data. 1) Primary data in the form of interviews, observation and documentation. 2) Secondary data using books, journals, theses, theses and other relevant sources. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis used interactive qualitative analysis techniques, carried out by data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.
The results showed that: 1) Nrimo ing pandum is an attitude of surrender to God, after doing business. Nrimo ing pandum are Javanese cultural values which serve as guidance for the members of the palace, including the royal servants. 2) The concept of nrimo ing pandum means abdi dalem to seek peace and blessings or to enjoy blessings in life by serving in the palace. The servants of the palace perform services to the palace by themselves dawuh. This service does not think about the reward received. 3) The realization of the concept of nrimo ing pandum for abdi dalem has shifted, that is, when inside and outside the palace, it is different. When inside the palace, the abdi dalem can realize nrimo ing pandum, but when outside the palace it is difficult to realize it. This is because the demands of life are varied and human desires never stop.
