Upaya Meeningkatkan Kreativitas dan Prestasi Belajar Sejarah Melalui Penerapan Metode Bermain Peran (Role Playing Method) Dengan Media Lagu

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the students creativity and historical learning achievement of class X IPS 3 SMA N 4 Surakarta of academic year 2018/2019 through the application of role plays method by using song media.

This research is categorized as Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this research were 33 students of X IPS 3 SMA N 4 Surakarta. Research sources were the teacher, students, learning process and document. Data collecting techniques used in the research were interviews, observation, test and documentation. Test the validity of data using triangulation technique of source / data and triangulation method. The research procedure used in this research was Suharsimi Arikunto’s CAR Theory (Planning, Action, Observing, Reflecting).

The result showed that: (1) the application of role plays method by using song media can improve the students historical learning achievement. Improvements in student learning achievement  can be seen  in students performance on cognitive test. Pre-cycle student learning achievement was only 21,21%, increasing to 54,54% in the first cycle and in the second cycle it increased again to 90,91%. (2) the application of role plays method by using song media can improve the students creativity of class X IPS 3 SMA N 4 Surakarta.  The average percentage indicator of students creativity through filling in the questionnaire on pre-cycle is 66,29%, then increased to 67,58% in first cycle and the second cycle increased to 78,78%. The average percentage indicator of students creativity through observation on pre-cysle is 50,78% and them increased to 62,76% in the first cycle and the second cycle increased to 80,47%.

The conclusion of this research is he application of role plays method by using song media can improve the students creativity and historical learning achievement of class X IPS 3 SMA N 4 Surakarta of academic year 2018/2019
