PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN SEJARAH KELAS XI IPS 3 SMA NEGERI 2BOYOLALI TAHUN AJARAN 2015/2016

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve students’ critical thinking ability and learning result in History toward XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the academic year of 2015/2016 by implementing cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type on the subject of History.

            This research is a classroom action research (CAR). It was conducted in 2 cycles,and each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subject of the research was XI IPS 3 students of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali which consists of 29 students. The sources of data came from teachers, students and learning activity. Techniques of collecting data used in this research were interview, observation, test and questionnaire. The validity of data was conducted by using triangulation method, which were data or source triangulation and method triangulation. The data were analyzed by using descriptive comparative analysis and interactive analysis techniques. The procedure of this research was based on spiral model developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart (Planning, Action, Observing, Reflecting).

The result of the research reveals that teachers are able to implement cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type, so that the learning activity can run well. The implementation of cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type on the subject of History can improve students’ critical thinking ability and learning result toward XI IPS 3 students of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali. It is proven by the average score on achievement indicator of students’ critical thinking ability and learning result in pre-cycle was 71.02%, increasing to 72.78% in cycle Iand in cycle II was increasing to 82.15%. The percentage of students’ passing the test in pre-cycle was 41.38%, increasing to 62.07% in cycle I, and in cycle II was increasing to 89.66%.

Based on the result of the research and the analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation ofcooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) can improve students’ critical thinking ability and learning result in History toward XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the academic year of 2015/2016.
