PENGGUNAAN COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT) SEBAGAI SARANA EVALUASI DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP EFEKTIVITAS PENILAIAN PADA MATA PELAJARAN SEJARAH DI SMA NEGERI 1 BOYOLALI TAHUN AJARAN 2015/2016

Abstract

The objectivies of this research are to investigate: (1) the evaluation technique in the subject of History before Computer Based Test (CBT) is implemented in SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; (2) the implementation of using Computer Based Test (CBT) as the evaluation media in the subject of History in SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; (3) The obstacles and the solution toward the using of Computer Based Test (CBT) as the evaluation media in the subject of History in SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; (4) The influence of using Computer Based Test (CBT) toward the assessment effectiveness in the subject of History in SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali.

This research used descriptive qualitative methode with case study strategy. Sampling technique used in the research was purposive sampling. The data were collected by conducting through interview, observation, and document analysis. The validity of data was done by using data triangulation and method triangulation. Technique of analyzing data used in this research was interactive analysis. Research procedures were conducted through 3 stages, namely preparation stage, analysis stage and conclusion stage.

The result of the research revals that: (1) the evaluation technique used in the subject of History in SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali before applying Computer Based Test (CBT) was still conventional which used pen and paper media or is commonly called as paper based test; (2) the implementation of using Computer Based Test (CBT) is through 3 steps, namely preparation, test arrangement, and implementation; (3) the obstacles-in implementing CBT in SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali are unstable internet connection problem which is then solved by using tethering mode from the students’ smarthphone, the blackout problem (even it rarely happens) which forced the teacher to postpone the test for same times or to conduct the test in the next day, the orderliness and security problem during the test which can be solved by encouraging the students to be more responsible and honest; (4) the influence of using Computer Based Test (CBT) toward the assessment effectiveness can be seen from several things, they are time effectiveness, objective assessment, the decreasing of cheating activity, scoring effectiveness, and economical factor.
