INOVASI PERTANIAN BERKELANJUTAN MELALUI PEMANFAATAN URIN KELINCI SEBAGAI PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR DAN PESTISIDA ALAMI TANAMAN PADI DI DESA GENENG, KABUPATEN SUKOHARJO
Abstract
Indonesia, as an agrarian country, possesses significant potential in the agricultural sector supported by a diversity of natural resources. Agricultural challenges such as plant, pests and diseases (PPD) and fluctuations in pesticide prices threaten farmers who contribute to the nation's food security. This research aims to implement a circular economy approach by utilizing rabbit urine waste as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) for pest control. The activities were conducted in Geneng, Gatak, Sukoharjo Regency, involving 35 members of a farmer group. The methods employed included extension services, demonstrations, and assistance in the production and use of LOF. The results indicate that rabbit urine LOF is effective in enhancing the growth of rice and horticultural plants, as well as improving resistance to PPD, particularly against rat pests. This program not only empowers local farmers but also opens new economic opportunities through the independent and commercial production of LOF. These findings underscore the importance of innovation in sustainable agriculture to improve farmers' welfare and maintain environmental sustainability.
