Peer Review Process
The articles submitted to Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi will be processed through a formatting review by the editor and independently reviewed by two peer reviewers. The review process applies Double Blind method. Decisions from reviewers are a top priority for editors to make decisions. The time required by reviewers to complete a round review process is three weeks. Generally, prospective reviewers will be selected based on their reputation in the suitability of their expertise. The decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based on their reports/recommendation. After being reviewed, there will be four kinds of editor decision based on reviewers’ recommendation:
> Accept Submission: The submission will be accepted without revisions.
> Revisions Required: The submission will be accepted after minor changes have been made.
> Resubmit for Review: The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, may be accepted. It will require a second round of review, however.
> Decline Submission: The submission will not be published in the journal.

This journal publishes two issues per year in April and October
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
This journal is open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with Budapest Open Access Initiative.

About the journal
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi is an agricultural journal published twice a year (April and October) managed and published by Department of Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret in collaboration with Indonesia Agronomy Association (PERAGI). This journal publishes articles related to agriculture such as plant physiology, crop production, physiology and seed production, soil science, plant breeding, plant protection, agro-climatology, agroecology, and plant biotechnology. Agrosains: Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi has been accredited for five years as scientific journal (Volume 20 Nomor 1 Tahun 2018 until Volume 24 Nomor 2 Tahun 2022, see certificate) and indexed in SINTA 2.
Publication Ethics

Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and other international standards of publication ethics. The following policies outline how Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi upholds integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of the publication process.
1. Allegations of Misconduct
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi ensures that any allegations of research or publication misconduct are handled fairly, consistently, and transparently. This includes concerns related to plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, authorship disputes, or peer review manipulation.
- Preliminary Evaluation: The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) assesses all allegations for credibility and relevance.
- Investigation: Credible cases follow COPE flowcharts; authors and institutions may be contacted.
- Confidentiality: All investigations are handled confidentially to protect involved parties.
- Outcomes: Possible actions include rejection, correction, retraction, or institutional notification.
- Record Keeping: Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi maintains detailed records of all investigations for a minimum of five years.
2. Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship must accurately reflect individuals’ contributions to the research and writing. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria must be acknowledged appropriately.
- Each author must have contributed substantially to the conception, design, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- All authors share responsibility for the integrity of the manuscript.
- Gift, ghost, or honorary authorship is not permitted.
- Disputes are handled according to COPE authorship dispute guidelines.
3. Complaints and Appeals
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi provides a transparent process for handling complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions, peer review conduct, or ethical concerns.
- Complaints are first addressed by the Editor-in-Chief.
- If unresolved, they may be escalated to the publisher or ethics committee.
- Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi follows COPE’s flowcharts for appeals and complaint resolution.
4. Conflicts of Interest / Competing Interests
All participants in the publication process must declare any relationships or activities that could bias their work.
- Authors must disclose all financial or non-financial interests relevant to the submitted work.
- Editors and reviewers must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
- All disclosures are published alongside the article.
5. Data and Reproducibility
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi promotes transparency and reproducibility in research by encouraging authors to make data available and verifiable.
- Authors must retain all raw data and provide it upon request.
- Datasets should be properly cited if publicly available.
- Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting are considered misconduct.
6. Ethical Oversight
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi upholds high ethical standards in research involving humans, animals, or confidential data.
- Authors must obtain approval from relevant ethics committees before conducting research.
- Consent and confidentiality must be maintained for human subjects.

7. Intellectual Property
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts do not infringe on copyright, trademarks, or any intellectual property rights of others.
- Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi respects Creative Commons licenses and open-access policies.
- Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi (the publisher) holds the non-exclusive copyright and publication rights of all published articles.
- Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
8. Journal Management
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi ensures that its editorial management practices are transparent, accountable, and in line with best international standards.
- The Editorial Board composition reflects expertise and diversity.
- Editors are trained in COPE ethical standards.

9. Peer Review Process
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi employs a double-blind peer review process to maintain objectivity and fairness.
- Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise and absence of conflicts of interest.
- Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and report any ethical concerns.
- Editors ensure timely and constructive feedback for authors.
10. Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections
Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi maintains the integrity of the scholarly record through transparent mechanisms for corrections, retractions, and discussions.
- Errors identified post-publication will be corrected promptly.
- Retractions follow COPE’s Retraction Guidelines.
- Readers may submit post-publication comments or concerns to the editorial office.
Plagiarism
Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized and not has been published or being considered elsewhere. Turnitin software will be used by the editorial team to check for similarities of a submitted manuscript with existing literature. If an article has over 25% of the total plagiarism, its will be rejected.
AI Tool Usage Policy in Article Preparation
This policy provides guidance on the responsible and transparent use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools during manuscript preparation, in line with COPE, ICMJE, and WAME ethical standards.
1. Purpose and Scope
Applies to all authors who use AI tools for writing, analysis, or image generation in preparing manuscripts submitted to Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi.
2. Principles
- Transparency: AI use must be disclosed clearly in the manuscript.
- Accountability: Authors remain fully responsible for all content, including that generated with AI assistance.
- Human Oversight: AI-generated outputs must be verified and edited by humans before submission.
- Originality: AI use must not result in plagiarism or data manipulation.
3. Acceptable Uses
- Grammar and language editing.
- Formatting or reference checking.
- Statistical or data visualization assistance (verified by authors).
- Idea generation or summarization for conceptual clarity.
4. Unacceptable Uses
- Generating full text without author verification.
- Fabricating data, references, or images.
- Using AI to manipulate data or peer review outcomes.
- Listing AI tools as authors.
5. Disclosure Requirement
Authors must include an AI disclosure statement, for example:
“Portions of this manuscript were assisted by ChatGPT (OpenAI) for language editing. The authors reviewed and verified all AI-generated content.”
If no AI tools were used, authors should declare: “The authors declare that no artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.”
6. Screening and Enforcement
- Manuscripts may be screened for AI-generated content.
- Undisclosed use may result in rejection or retraction.
- Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi reserves the right to notify authors’ institutions in severe cases.
