Peer Review Process

Every article that goes to the editorial staff will be selected through Initial Review processes by Editorial Board. Then, the articles will be sent to the Mitra Bestari/peer reviewer and will go to the next selection by Doube Blind Peer Review Process. After that, the articles will be returned to the authors to revise. These processes take 2 month (eight week) for a maximum time.

This journal publishes two issues per year in April and October


 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal is open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with Budapest Open Access Initiative.

About the journal

Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi is an agricultural journal published twice a year (April and October) managed and published by Department of Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret in collaboration with Indonesia Agronomy Association (PERAGI). This journal publishes articles related to agriculture such as plant physiology, crop production, physiology and seed production, soil science, plant breeding, plant protection, agro-climatology, agroecology, and plant biotechnology. Agrosains: Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi has been accredited for five years as scientific journal (Volume 20 Nomor 1 Tahun 2018 until Volume 24 Nomor 2 Tahun 2022, see certificate) and indexed in SINTA 4.


 

Publication ethics and malpractice statement

Agrosains : Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi is the journals managed by Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret which was first published online in April 2017. Articles that have been published in print starting in the 2013 edition are available on this website. Agrosains: Jurnal Penelitian Agronomi is a scientific journal published online and publishes research articles or scientific papers in the field of Agronomy. The ethical statement of scientific publications is a code of ethics statement of all parties involved in the process of publishing this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, best partners, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication basically upholds three ethical values in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications; (ii) Fairness, which is to give authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

A. Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers
  1. Determine the name of the journal, the scope of science, scale, and accreditation if necessary;
  2. Determine editorial board membership;
  3. Defining relationships between publishers, editors, peer-reviewers, and other parties in a contract;
  4. Respect things that are confidential, good for researchers, contributors, writers, editors, and peer-reviewers;
  5. Implement norms and conditions regarding rights to wealth intellectual property, especially copyright;
  6. Review journal policies and submit them to writers, board editors, best partners, and readers;
  7. Make a code of behavior guide for editors and peer-reviewers;
  8. Publish journals regularly;
  9. Ensure the availability of funding sources for sustainability publishing journal;
  10. Building a network of cooperation and marketing; and
  11. Prepare permits and other legal aspects.


B. Duties and Responsibilities of the Journal Editor

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and writers;
  2. Strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis;
  3. Implement a quality assurance process to ensure the quality of articles published;
  4. Prioritizing freedom of opinion objectively;
  5. Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record;
  6. Provide corrections, clarifications, withdrawals and apologies if needed;
  7. Responsible for the style and format of the writing, while the contents and all statements in the manuscript are the responsibility of the author;
  8. Actively ask the opinion of writers, readers, peer-reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications;
  9. Encourage the evaluation of journals if findings availabel;
  10. Support initiatives to reduce research errors and publication by asking the author to attach an ethical form clearance that has been approved by the ethical clearance commission;
  11. Support initiatives to educate researchers about ethics publication;
  12. Review the effects of policy issues on the attitude of the writer and peer reviewer and improve them to increase responsibility and minimize errors;
  13. Have an open mind for new opinions or views others who may conflict with personal opinions;
  14. Do not maintain your own, author's, or third party's opininion which can lead to non-objective decisions; and
  15. Encourage the writer, so they can improve the writing until it's worth publishing.


C. Duties and Responsibilities of Mitra-Bestari (Peer -Reviewer)

  1. Get the assignment from the editor to review the paper and convey his review to the editor as material determination of the feasibility of a written work for publication;
  2. Do not examine the papers that involve themselves, either direct or indirect;
  3. Maintaining the confidentiality of the author by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations for the reviewed manuscript;
  4. Encourage the writer to improve on writing scientific papers;
  5. Review corrected paper in accordance with predetermined standards; and
  6. Examine the manuscript in a timely manner according to journal writing instructions and based on scientific rules (method data collection, author legality, conclusions, and etc).


D. Author Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Make sure that the author list meets the criteria as a writer;
  2. Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations and details;
  3. State the origin of resources (including funding), both directly or indirectly;
  4. Describe limitations in research;
  5. Responding to comments given by peer reviewers in a professional and timely manner;
  6. Inform the editor if you will withdraw the published article or manuscript with certain terms and conditions to be fullfiled; and
  7. Make a statement that the manuscript submitted for publication is original, has not been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
