Abstract

Abstract : This study discusses the types and many defects of lettuce, improved priorities, dominant factors, and appropriate solutions in improving the quality of lettuce in the CV. Tani Organik Merapi. The basic method used in this research is descriptive. The data analysis method used is fishbone analysis using the cheksheet and Pareto chart tool. The results showed that there were four types of lettuce defects. Priority defects that need to be repaired are torn, hollow leaves and rotten yellow. The factors that affect the quality of lettuce consist of material, man, method and the environment Appropriate solutions to be implemented are (1) material: selecting and developing their own seeds and using organic pesticides on a regular basis, (2) mans: increasing competency and controlling employees and partner farmers, (3) methods: maintaining and supporting more intensive and better, (4) Environment: carry out pest control prevention and clean up the lettuce cultivation environment.
