Transformasi pembelajaran ips di sekolah dasar sebagai upaya mewujudkan karakter unggul dan kompetensi generasi emas indonesia 2045
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the transformation of Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools within the context of strengthening students’ character and competencies toward Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045. The research employed a qualitative method with a library research approach, involving a systematic analysis of scientific literature, national and international journals, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that Social Studies learning has shifted significantly from a teacher-centered to a student-centered paradigm, in line with the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes flexibility, contextuality, and active student engagement. The integration of character values such as cooperation, responsibility, tolerance, and nationalism has proven effective in fostering morally upright and socially empathetic individuals. Moreover, Social Studies plays a vital role in developing 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication (4C skills). Social Studies learning at the elementary school level serves as a strategic instrument for realizing humanistic, adaptive, and globally oriented education. Thus, the transformation of Social Studies instruction contributes significantly to shaping intelligent, ethical, and competitive future generations, ready to lead Indonesia toward the Golden Era of 2045.
