Abstract

Pedestrian and Green Open Space Study in Green Campus Infrastructure at Jenderal Soedirman University

This study aims to analyze the comfort level of pedestrian pathways and their relationship with the availability of Green Open Spaces at Jenderal Soedirman University in supporting the green campus concept. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis of pedestrian pathway quality and GOS as two key components of sustainable campus infrastructure that have not previously been comprehensively examined at the university. A descriptive qualitative method was employed through field observations, interviews, documentation, and literature review, based on the UI GreenMetric indicators and pedestrian facility regulations. The results indicate that the pedestrian pathways on the West Campus are of higher quality (score 1.7) than those on the East Campus (score 1.3), while the GOS assessment achieved 675 out of 1,500 points. The integration of pedestrian pathways and Green Open Spaces remains suboptimal, highlighting the need to enhance vegetation to improve thermal comfort, reduce noise, and support sustainable campus planning.
