Religiusitas sebagai pilar Penyesuaian Diri: Studi pada alumni Pondok Pesantren X

Abstract


Religiosity is considered an important factor in helping individuals adapt to new environments after graduating from Islamic boarding schools. However, some alumni still experience difficulties in maintaining their religious principles amid social and cultural changes. This study aims to examine the effect of religiosity on the self-adjustment of Islamic boarding school alumni. The study involved 107 alumni selected through random sampling and employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The instruments used were the Religiosity Scale (CRS-15) and a self-adjustment scale developed based on Schneider’s theory. The results of a simple linear regression analysis indicated that religiosity had a significant effect on self-adjustment (F=15.367; p<.001). With an R² value of 0.128, religiosity contributed 12.8% to self-adjustment. These findings suggest that religiosity plays an important role in supporting alumni in adapting to life outside the boarding school environment. Practically, the results of this study may serve as a foundation for developing alumni guidance programs that emphasize strengthening religiosity and adaptive skills to face challenges beyond the Islamic boarding schools environment
