Hubungan Psychological Well-being dengan Prestasi Anak Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19 di Surakarta
Abstract
Introduction: COVID-19 was officialy declared as a global pandemic in March 11th, 2020. COVID-19 pandemic causes negative impacts upon children’s psychological well-being. In Indonesia, remote learning had never been tested before therefore reduction upon children’s enthusiasm to study is concerned. Research about the academic achievement during COVID-19 pandemic and its relations with psychological well-being is still rare in Indonesia therefore a research is conducted.
Method: This research is an observational analytic with cross-sectional approach. There are 107 samples consists of students from grade VII, VIII and IX from Pangudi Luhur Bintang Laut Secondary School from April to June 2021. Consecutive sampling technique is used in this research by using online questionnaire with google form. Data is analyzed with Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and continued with Mann-Whitney or Spearman’s correlation test.
Result: The research obtained 107 samples. Then the samples is analyzed through Kolmogorov-Smirnov test which resulted abnormal distribution. And then continued with Mann-Whitney test with p>0,05 that means there is not any correlation. Spearman’s correlation test resulted r + with p > 0,05 which means the correlations between the two variables are very weak and unidirectional. 2
Conclusion: The correlation between psychological well-being and academic achievement upon students from Pangudi Luhur Bintang Laut Secondary School is very weak and unidirectional.
