Correlation Between Low-Density Lipoprotein and EGFR in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients
Abstract
Introduction: Type 2 Diabetes Melitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease with a quite serious complications. One of the complications that often occurs is damage to the kidney structure. T2DM sufferers have increased levels of Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) which can play a role in causing damage to the kidney structure. This study aims to determine the correlation between LDL and e-GFR in T2DM sufferers.
Methods: This study used an analytical observation design with a cross sectional approach using secondary data originating from medical records. Subjects included in the study were T2DM patients at UNS Hospital in 2022-2023.
Results: Based on the results of the analysis carried out using the Spearman correlation test, the p value was 0.646 (p>0.05) and r= 0.049. This shows that there is no correlation between between Low Density Lipoprotein and e-GFR.
Conclusions: Statistically, there is no correlation between Low Density Lipoprotein and e-GFR in T2DM sufferers.
