IbM UNTUK KELOMPOK NGUDI MULYO DAN ULAM NASTITI DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KIT (KONSEP INTEGRASI TERPADU) SEKTOR HULU-HILIR

Abstract

This activity of IbM was conducted with the main objective to develop agribusiness with the integrated integration concept of upstream and downstream sectors. Its special target was the integration of two business groups of community, namely: the upstream (farming) sector and downstream (post-harvest processing) sector so as to create an independent business of community. The partners of this IbM program were Ngudi Mulyo Group, which runs its business in the duct farming and freshwater fish sectors and Ulam Nastiti Group, which runs its business in duck meat and freshwater fish (catfish) processing. The two partners were domiciled in Suruh village, Tasikmadu sub-district, Karanganyar regency. The locations of partners were determined by using the purposive sampling method with consideration of the various potentials of human resources and natural resources prevailing in the locations of activity and problem-solving urgency. This IbM program as far as possible strived to involve the groups of partners in its execution through participatory rural appraisal (PRA) method, focus group discussion, extension, appropriate technology transfer (introduction of production-supporting tools), training and modeling.

The results of this IbM program are as follows: Based on the surveys and coordination with the partners, it is known that currently the partners are able to produce catfish feeds on their own, but they meet difficulty on the feed-drying process. Therefore, the team of this IbM program deals with it by introducing a feed-drying tool (oven). The cultivation of catfish as many as 8000 is done for 14 weeks, and the cultivation of ducks as many as 100 is done for 4 weeks. Both are fed with self-produced feeds. The groups of partners have also pioneered the processing business of products, but they are limited to shredded catfish and catfish chips with simple packaging and sales by order.
