POTRET KEMISKINAN DI DESA LOK CANTUNG KECAMATAN SIMPANG EMPAT KABUPATEN BANJAR

Abstract

This research reveals three problems, namely poor perception by the local villagers, the kind of poverty that exists in the village as well as the factors that cause poverty. The results showed that perceptions of poor rural communities by Lok Cantung can be seen from the ownership of less than 0.5 hectares of land, a house which they occupy, the things they have, the way how to dress and eating habits. Type of poverty include economic poverty, poverty of education and health poverty. Poverty factors include the resources of fertile but limited, class structure, or enclosed apathy and lack of facilities and infrastructure. The results of this study suggest that government and social institutions have to participate by (1) lending capital, (2) giving the non-formal education and counseling about the importance of health, (3) utilization of existing resources optimally so that they empower the community.
