LEKSIKON ALAT DAN AKTIVITAS PENANGKAPAN IKAN AIR PAYAU DI KABUPATEN PATI (KAJIAN ETNOLINGUISTIK)

Abstract

Abstract:  This research is motivated by the existence of a lexicon in the field of fisheries which is commonly used by the people of Pati Regency whose livelihoods are cultivators and fish seekers in brackish water. The purpose of this study was to describe the lexicon of brackish water fisheries in Pati district based on fishing gear and to describe the lexicon of brackish water fisheries in Pati district based on fishing activities. In addition, the researcher also describes how the community views the lexicon that has been found. The data collection method used is the interview method and participatory observation. The data analysis method used is a qualitative descriptive method. This study uses an ethnolinguistic approach to understand each language. The lexicon arises because of the variety of tools and methods of catching fish used by the community. Researchers found 17 lexicons based on fishing gear in brackish water and 23 lexicons of fishing activities in brackish water. This research is useful for the culture of brackish water cultivators in Pati Regency, seen from the language used and the way people view fish by looking at the tools and activities that have been found.
