ANGGOTA TUBUH DALAM BAHASA MARIND BUTI, MERAUKE

Abstract

Abstract:  Marind or Malind is the language used by the Marind people. This language belongs to the Trans-New Guinea language family within the Papuan language range. This language has been classified in group 6b (threatened) on the ethnologue website. Unfortunately, there has not been much related research. Therefore, researchers feel the need to conduct this research. This research is a qualitative research to identify vocabulary related to human body parts in Marind Buti (Imbuti) language. This research is a follow-up to a previous study entitled Malind Language in the Daily Life of Students in Merauke (Hanova, 2021) which found that the use of Marind language among Marind youth is quite alarming. The data in this study are the sounds of the Marind Buti language spoken directly by the informants and refer to the parts of the human body. The research was conducted in Buti Village, Merauke District, Merauke Regency, Papua. The researcher used an interview list that was adapted to the word list in the Wordlist for Papuan Language (Birds, 2011). SBLC technique (listening, engaging, speaking), recording technique, and note-taking technique were used to collect data in this study. Based on the wordlist used, it is known that there are approximately 35 vocabularies related to body parts in the Imbuti language.
