THE FORM OF REQUEST BY ONLINE GAME PLAYER OF GENSHIN IMPACT
Abstract
Abstract: This research aimed to understand the form of request which produced by online game player Genshin Impact. This research used descriptive quantitative analysis method. The object of this research were request speech act which were produced by Genshin Impact player. The subject consisted of 20 male player and 20 female player. The subject was gathered through spreading questionnaire in various social media of Genshin Impact player such as Twitter and Discord. The questionnaire consists of 7 situations that represent overall experience playing the game, in which player had to make a request. This research resulted in founding the form of request which produced by the players. The form consisted of three main point which are speech modes, speech type, and request’s structure. There were three modes that were found in the research declarative, interrogative, and imperative. The speech types that were found in the research were direct – indirect, literal – nonliteral, direct – indirect literal, and direct – indirect nonliteral. The structure of request could only be consisted of head act and also accompanied by supportive act, thus creating four kinds of structure that are found within the research such as head act, head act followed by supportive act, supportive act followed by head act, and head act in between supportive act.
