LINGUISTIK FORENSIK INTEROGASI: KAJIAN IMPLIKATUR PERCAKAPAN DARI PERSPEKTIF MAKNA SIMBOLIK BAHASA HUKUM

Abstract

Language is a means for speakers to express their hearts and minds. The purpose of speakers can be delivered properly in a convenient and humanist. The atmosphere is highly required, particularly by speakers who are being interrogated for a case by the police. People being interrogated will be able to convey their hearts and minds appropriately when the interrogators use humane terms, among them is the conversational implicature. The purpose of research is to conduct forensic interrogation to identify the language conversational implicature from the perspective of the symbolic meaning of the statutory language. The study population was the language used by the interrogators and involved parties on the interrogation. Samples were the conversations during the interrogations which were selected randomly from in the police offices. Random sampling technique using observation method which was followed by orthographic identity method was applied in this study. Data collection was performed by using tape recorder and orthographic transcription was composed for the analysis. Technical analysis of the data with the conversational implicatures was based on the principle of discourse analysis. Formal methods were utilized to describe the shape and pattern of the interrogation language, while the informal methods were used to classify the speech based on the conversational implicatures of speakers. The results of this study indicated that the use of conversational implicature in the interrogators’ speech led to humanist communication in addition to abuses deterrence during the interrogation.
