Pengaruh Praktikum Biologi Berbasis Etnobiologi terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Materi Biologi dan Pelestarian Budaya Lokal

Abstract

There are some problems of high school practicum implementation in Gunung Mas District, Central Kalimantan such as 1) limited learning space, 2) students are less introduced to the biodiversity in the neighborhood around the school according to the local potential of the local area, 3) the absence of a practical guide to facilitating students based on ethnobiology. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of biological practice based on ethnobiology on the understanding of students' concepts on biological materials. This type of research is Quasy Experiment. The samples consisted of 3 high school class X IPA in Gunung Mas district area. Data was analyzed by using t test. The students' ethnobiological knowledge is analyzed descriptively through student response questionnaire. The result of the research showed that the ethnobiology-based on biology practice guide influences the students' concept understanding in SMAN-1 Tewah tarithmetic 14,76 > ttable (1,99), in SMAN-1 Kurun tcount 17,97> ttable (1, 99) and in SMAN-1 Sepang tarithmetic 11,95 > ttable (1,99) at 5% significance level, so it can be concluded that there is influence of ethnobiology-based on biology practicum to understanding the concept of students of class X IPA. Students' knowledge of local culture in the local area was increased through the ethnobiology, so that local knowledge related to ethnobiology can be passed on to future generations.
