Pendampingan Pengembangan Pertanian Organik melalui Teknologi Pupuk Hijau Azolla
Abstract
Organic farming is farming that prioritizes the use of organic fertilizer. The use of organic fertilizer has benefits for plants, soil, and the environment. Azolla is a source of organic fertilizer with the advantage of fast-growing and can be used as compost or green manure. The problem is that Azolla is not widely known among farmers, especially in Sukosari Village. This service aims to assist farmers in creating environmentally friendly organic farming and reduce farmers' dependence on inorganic fertilizers by utilizing the potential of local natural resources in the form of Azolla. The methods used to carry out this service include 1) Location survey, 2) Counseling and outreach, 3) Cultivation training and mentoring, and 4) Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The service was carried out in Sukosari Village, Dagangan District, Madiun Regency. The results of the service activities showed that farmers' understanding increased after the service activities were carried out by >80%, and farmers' interest in cultivating azolla independently reached 87%. Another advantage of Azolla is that it is used as animal feed. Several farmers have done organic farming at the service location but have yet to be optimally developed.
