PEMBERDAYAAN KELOMPOK SADAR WISATA MUTIARA MAS DALAM PENGELOLAAN INFORMASI KEPARIWISATAAN PANTAI KRAKAL GUNUNG KIDUL

Abstract

Managing and packaging information of tourism destination is one of the important components of tourism at the regional level. However, the activities to manage the tourism information at the local level have not been handled well, due to the minimum knowledge and skills of local human resources on how to manage and develop the tourism information system. This community services aimed to empower the Group of Tourism Activist called Kelompok Sadar Wisata (POKDARWIS) Mutiara Mas to organizing and managing the tourism information of Krakal Beach, which is located at District of Gunung Kidul, DI Yogyakarta Province. The community services had been done in 2015, following some steps, i.e. 1) Exploration and identification the tourism objects, 2) Focus Group Discussion to collect some data from the perspective of local people, 3) Interview to some important figures to explore more information, 4) Do training for participants, and 5) Monitoring the program. Method to empowering the member of POKDARWIS called 3Mp, which is abbreviation of the first M is Mengumpulkan (Collecting), the second M is Mengolah (Processing), the third M is Memberikan (Giving), and the small p is for pelayanan (services). The result of community services were website of Krakal Beach tourism, pamphlet, direction board, and map of Krakal tourism destination. Another result was the establishment of a group of tourism guide called Kelompok Krakal Kreatif (in brief K3), which is a part of POKDARWIS with special tasks, i.e. to manage the information of Krakal tourism, and to guide tourist to know and enjoy the pleasures of Krakal Beach by providing various information services. Key Words: Pokdarwis empowerment, model 3Mp, tourism info, tourism guide, Krakal Beach
