Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Indonesia play an important role in shaping a skilled and qualified workforce in various fields. A crucial aspect of this preparation lies in the effective management of facilities and infrastructure, particularly in specialized fields such as machining. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of facilities and infrastructure in the machining workshop of SMK Warga Surakarta, in line with the National Education Standards for Vocational High Schools outlined in the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 34 of 2018. By adopting a descriptive research design through a quantitative approach, data was collected through direct observation as well as documentation from the machining workshop. The assessment criteria are based on the standards set by the Ministry of Education and Culture and have been elaborated through Norms & Standards for Vocational Laboratories / Workshops for Mechanical Engineering Expertise. The results showed that the feasibility level of the machining workshop infrastructure reached 92.65% (very feasible), while the furniture facilities reached 96.42% (very feasible), equipment facilities 91.67% (very feasible), other devices 90% (very feasible), and learning media facilities 75% (feasible). The feasibility level of the facilities and infrastructure of the machining workshop at SMK Warga Surakarta can be categorized as "very feasible" with a percentage of 90%. With a high level of feasibility, the machining workshop of SMK Warga Surakarta is able to provide an optimal learning environment for students in developing their technical skills. This demonstrates the school's commitment to providing adequate facilities in accordance with educational standards, which in turn will have a positive impact on the quality of SMK graduates in the field of machining.
