KOEFESIEN TRANSFER MASSA VOLUMETRIS ADSORPSI CADMIUM (Cd) DARI LIMBAH CAIR DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN CHITIN SECARA BATCH

Abstract

Based on PT. Bina karya report for production unit IV Pertamina Cilacap that Cadmium metal in wastewater is still about the concentration limit. One of the treatments of wastewater is an adsorption method, and many adsorbents can be used. The aim of this research was to know volumetric mass transfer coefficient (Kea) on Cadmium metal adsorption in Batch system with chitin as adsorbent. Chitin was got from shrimp skin with reducing protein and mineral. In this research 5-gram of chitin were mixed with 450-ml wastewater. Every periods of time the liquid was analyzed using AAS and results of the Cadmium concentrations based on the research's results. The variable, which was observed in this research, was temperature that were xrc, 40 °C, and arc. The results of the research were 1, 1317 10-2minute", 1, 1451 10-2minute", 1,6926 1CJ2minute".
