PENGARUH SUHU PADA REAKSI PEMBUATAN KALIUM SULFAT DARI EKSTRAK ABU DAN ASAM SULFAT DALAM REAKTOR BATCH

Abstract

The extract of ash from agriculture waste contains potassium in the form of potassium carbonate and potassium bicarbonate. These potassium compounds are the source of potassium for fertilizer. The potassium fertilizer should be in the neutral compound, i.e. potassium sulfat (K2S04). The objective of the research was to study the effects of changing temperature to the kinetics of reaction between potassium carbonate (K2C03) and sulfuric acid (H2S04). The researchs were performed in batch reactor isothermally and variest of temperature from 30 up to 60 °C. The effects of temperature to the reaction rate constant could be approached by Arrhenius Equation as follows: 51.28 Ash of rice hull : The average of error is 18. 8 %. Ash of nut husk : The average of error is 29. 06 %. k = 38.86le RT 0.1717 k = l.489e RT
