Abstract

Chromium and its compounds are highly risk for human’s health. According to this fact, it’s not save to build an industrial which disposed its chromium metal waste straight to environment. The aim of this research were to adsorp chromium metal and to determine correlation between Concentration, Agitation Speed with volumetric mass transfer coefficient (kca). It is also to compare the removal efficiency of chromium with activated carbon and chitin. The experiments were carried out using agitated tank and samples were taken every 5 minutes and analyzed using AAS system. The result of this experiment showed that volumetric mass transfer coefficient was reciprocally to concentration of chromium solution and was proportional to agitation speed.
