Chicken's bone contains calcium phosphate that can be converted to phosphoric acid by adding excess sulphuric acid. The objective of this research was to determine the reaction rate constant (k') of this process and the concentration of sulfuric acid which gives the high yield relatively. Sulfuric acid concentrations were 15 %, 25 %, 35 %, 45 % and 55 % (w/w). The chicken's bone powder size was -200 mesh. The reactor was a three-cork vessel equipped by thermometer, water cooler, electric heater and magnetic stirrer. Phosphoric acid formed was analyzed volumetrically. The result of this experiment showed that the reaction was pseudo first order with respect to calcium phosphate and the reaction rate constant was 0.0006 min-1. The concentration of sulphuric acid giving high yield was 45% (w/w).
