urea-formaldehyde fl!adion is a step reaction, the first step is formation methylol from an addition reaction of urea-formaldehyde. The second step is polymerization methylol forms three dimensional networks structure. This research studied the effect of temperature and concentration of acid catalyst upon rate constant. : Experiment was carried out in a stirred batch reactor equipped with water bath. The mo/ ratio urea : formaldehyde was 1:2. Sample was taken at certain time to determine the rest of formaldehyde concentration. The effect of temperature was investigated at pH 5 with temperature range 50 "C - 80 "C. The effect of acid catalyst was investigated at temperature 60 'C with pH range 3 - 6. It is concluded that the model proposed was appropriate for the urea-formaldehyde reactions. The effect of temperature reaction and concentration acid catalyst upon rate constant was expressed in overall equation.
