MODEL MATEMATIS EVALUASI PARAMETER PERPINDAHAN PANAS REGENERASI KATALIS PADA REAKTOR FIXED-BED

Abstract

The main problem during the regeneration process is to limit the temperature rise due to oxidation of the deposited carbon so as to prevent sintering of the catalyst. The objective of this research is to formulate the influence of the flow rate of air to the volumetric heat transfer coefficient, effective thermal conductivity of air and effective thermal conductivity of solid cooked catalyst. The reaction oxidation of the deposit carbon in cooked catalyst was carried out in fixed bed reactor. Catalyst in bed reactor and air was introduced continuously from the bottom. The modeling gave result good agreement with the experimentally obtained temperature distribution of air at any position along reactor at any time. The correlation between of Reynolds number on the Nusselt number and ratio of effective thermal conductivity against thermal conductivity of air could be oresented as follows : Nu = 1. 7802 Re0.4197and k0ti kt = 23. 6807 Re0·2498 Which is valid for Reynolds number between 12.4580 - 32.4613
