Abstract

Crystallization is one of the most important separation processes. To able to design crystallization process crystallization kinetic data must be available. These kinetic data can be obtained from either literature or erperimentt. The objectives of experiment was to determine the values of crystallization kinetic parameters, i.e., frequency factor (Kg.a),activation energy (Eg) and crystallization order(g) for potassium sulphate in solvent of water. The variables were temperature (10, 20 and 3ll°C) and agitator speed (200 and ./00 rpm). The experiments were caried out using agitated batch crystallizer. The result of the experiment indicated that frequency factor (Kg_a)was affected by agitator speed and the others were independent from agitator speed and temperatur. The value of Kg.ofor 200 and ./00 rpm were 24.5662 minute" and 28.1357 minute",respetively. The value of Eg and g were 1-1.-1529 k.J mol' and 1.2-191.
