THE EFFECT OF GUIDED INQUIRY MODEL TOWARD STUDENTS LEARNING OUTCOME IN BIOLOGY OF GRADE XI IPA AT SMA NEGERI 2 SUKOHARJO ACADEMIC YEAR 2013/2014
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of guided inquiry model toward the students learning otucome in biology of grade XI IPA at SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo academic year 2013/2014. This research was quasi experiment using a design postest only with nonequivalent control group design. The research population was all students of grade XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo academic year 2013/2014. The sampling technique used cluster sampling to obtain class XI IPA 1 as a control group and class XI IPA 3 as a experimental group. Data collection techniques using test and non test method. Hypotesis testing with t-test using SPSS version 17. Result of this research showed the learning outcomes of knowledge (tcount> ttable) that tcount = 2.978 and ttable = 1.995, skills (tcount > ttable) that tcount = 16,509 and ttable = 1.995, as well as attitudes (tcount > ttable) that tcount = 3.905 and ttable=1.995. The decision on the third domain of learning outcomes that tcount > ttable with sig.< α shows that there was a real effect on the learning outcome in biology with guided inquiry model of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The conclusion from this research that there was significant effect of guided inquiry model toward the students learning outcome in biology of grade XI IPA at SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo academic year 2013/2014.
