Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission

The manuscript submitted through OJS (Open Journal System) in (link). We differentiate between the requirements for new and revised submissions. You may choose to submit your manuscript as a single Word or PDF file to be used in the refereeing process. Only when your paper is at the revision stage, will you be requested to format your paper according to our formatting.

 

Writing Instruction

The manuscript submitted to Bulletin of Fintech and Digital Economy need to be prepared according to the following instructions:

 

General Writing Style

Bulletin of Fintech and Digital Economy accept research paper, conceptual ideas, literature reviews, reviews of new books, bibliographic, and practical writing related to financial technology and digital economy fields. The manuscript must be written in English and paying attention to the use of inclusive language. Submitted manuscript should be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2,…), 1.2, etc. The abstract is not included in section numbering. This subsection can be used in internal cross referencing: do not just refer to ‘the text’. Any subsection may be given a brief heading.each heading should appear on its own separate line.

 

Systematics of Manuscript

The conceptual systematics of manuscript consists of: title, author names (without academic title), address for correspondence (contact number, facsimile, and e-mail of corresponding author), abstract, keywords, JEL classification, introduction, literature review and hypothesis development (optional), methods, results, discussion, conclusion, suggestion, and references. The following is the instruction for each part of the manuscript.

 

Author Data

Consist of the full name without academic title and abbreviation, author’s affiliations

One author has been designated as the corresponding author with contact details (contact number, facsimile, and e-mail)

 

Abstract

Author should provide an abstract with 150 – 200 words written in one paragraph. The abstract for research paper must contains the purpose of research, methods, important findings, and conclusion. The abstract for study article/conceptual paper contains a summary of the paper. An abstract is often presented separately from the body of manuscript, therefore, it should be able to stand alone, avoid references and non-standard or uncommon abbreviations.

 

Keywords

Submitted manuscript must provide up to 6 keywords. Keywords may be provided in the form of word or phrases and is written in alphabetical order. The keyword should avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts (avoid ‘and’, ‘of’). Only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes.

 

JEL classification

Each manuscript should include JEL classification, a code used to classify the field of science of the submitted manuscript. The classification code can be found in the following links:

Introduction

The introduction introduces reader to the objectives of the work and provide adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or summary of the results. The introduction section should be prepared in a coherent and chronological order. Connection between the logic of the first paragraph and the following should be clear.

 

Literature Review and Hypotheses Development (optional)

This section provides in depth discussion on the existing research in the fields to interpret certain events of phenomena, and to provide guidance for further investigation. A hypothesis may be proven correct or incorrect and must be capable of refutation. If it remains unrefuted by facts, it is said to be verified or corroborated.

 

Methods

The section contains sufficient theoretical and technical information for readers to reproduce the work, it contains the research design, population and sample, data types and sources, data collection technique, and data analysis technique.

 

Results

The result must be clear and concise. Narration is provided based on the information extracted from the data.

 

Discussion

This section should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature. This section can also be used to interpret the results and answer the research objectives and hypotheses.

 

Conclusion

Contains the main conclusions of the work which may stand alone or form a subsection of a discussion or result and discussion section.

 

Suggestions

In this section author provided suggestion for practical actions, development of new theory, and further study.

 

Tables

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables can be placed either next to the relevant text in the article, or on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.

 

Citation

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication.

 

Use of the DOI is highly encouraged.

A DOI is guaranteed never to change, so you can use it as a permanent link to any electronic article.

An example of a citation using DOI for an article not yet in an issue is:

Please note the format of such citations should be in the same style as all other references in the paper.

 

Web references

As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.

 

Data references

This journal encourages you to cite underlying or relevant datasets in your manuscript by citing them in your text and including a data reference in your Reference List. Data references should include the following elements: author name(s), dataset title, data repository, version (where available), year, and global persistent identifier. Add [dataset] immediately before the reference so we can properly identify it as a data reference. The [dataset] identifier will not appear in your published article.

 

References in a special issue

Please ensure that the words 'this issue' are added to any references in the list (and any citations in the text) to other articles in the same Special Issue.

 

Reference formatting

There are no strict requirements on reference formatting at submission. References can be in any style or format as long as the style is consistent. Where applicable, author(s) name(s), journal title/book title, chapter title/article title, year of publication, volume number/book chapter and the article number or pagination must be present.

Use of DOI is highly encouraged.

The references should be arranged according to the following examples:

 

Reference style

Text: All citations in the text should refer to:

  1. Single author: the author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity) and the year of publication;
  2. Two authors: both authors' names and the year of publication;
  3. Three or more authors: first author's name followed by 'et al.' and the year of publication.

 

Citations may be made directly (or parenthetically). Groups of references can be listed either first alphabetically, then chronologically, or vice versa.

 

Examples: 'as demonstrated (Allan, 2000a, 2000b, 1999; Allan and Jones, 1999)…. Or, as demonstrated (Jones, 1999; Allan, 2000)… Kramer et al. (2010) have recently shown …'

 

List: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication.

Manuscripts are submitted must be an original, not plagiarized / plagiarism of other people's work has not been published, and are not under the consideration/review process in another publisher. Bulletin of Fintech and Digital Economy holds the copyright for all materials included in the form of print, electronic, and another form. Authors need to approve the transfer of copyright form.

 

Other Requirement

Authors need to submit the curriculum vitae that consists of: (1) Personal Data: full name with academic title, a name of an institution, address, and contact number institution, e-mail, home address, phone number, address for correspondence. (2) Educational Background. (3) Scientific publication.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
