Abstract

Abstract: Sidaguri leaf (Sida rhombifolia) contain flavonoid 5,7-dihydroxy-
4’-methoxy flavon (acacetin) which can reduce uric acid level in blood. The
purpose of this study is to determine antihyperuricemia activity of decoction
sidaguri leaf in uric acid levels on male mice induced by potassium oxonate.
Thirty Swiss mice were divided into 6 groups. Group II to VI were given liver
chicken juice 20% 3 times per day for three days and then induced by
potassium oxonate at 09.00 a.m together with sample test. Sample test of
group I was given CMC Na 0,5% (normal control), group II was given
potassium oxonate 300mg/Kgbw (negative control), group III was treated
allopurinol 10 mg/Kgbw (positive control), group IV to VI were given
decoction 0,625; 1,25; and 2,5 g/Kgbw respectively. Blood was taken at 10.00
a.m and sample was read with spectrophotometer with wavelength 546 nm.
Uric acid level in blood was analyzed by one way Anova with level of
confident 95%. This research showed that decoction of sidaguri leaf can
reduce uric acid level compare to negative control (P<0.05). Uric acid level
in group IV to VI decrease to 2,70±0,22; 1,62±0,13 and 0,60±0,07 mg/dL
with a percent decrease in uric acid 19,40; 51,64; dan 82,08 %. consecutively.
Decoction of Sidaguri contain flavonoid, saponin, tannin and alkaloid.
