STUDI OF CHARACTERISTIC AND MORPHOLOGI MCM-41 PREPARED BY POST SYNTHESIS PROCCES WITH ZINK (Zn) OXIDE
Abstract
Abstract : Preparation of MCM-41 modified with zink oxide by post synthesis procces
has been attempted. The aim of this research was (i) to see about cristalinity and pore size
of MCM-41 and (ii) to show morphology of MCM-41 before and after modified by Zink
Oxide. Zink oxide prepared by sol-gel procces for the next step doped to MCM-41 matrix.
The material product characterized by XRD, TEM, IR, and isotherm adsorption
desorption N2. The result of XRD showed that MCM-41 before modified had high

cristalinity and pore size about 33.22 Å. The uniformity of pore morphology showed by
TEM result. Isotherm adsorption desorption N2 result showed that MCM-41 before and
after modified showed the typical character of mesoporous material. The decrease of
MCM-41 pore size and the appearance of ZnO peak occured after modification with zink
oxide. The results were reinforced by isotherm adsorption desorption N2 result that
showed MCM-41 with Zn oxide had pore size decrease about 4.92 Å compared with
MCM-41. The presence of zink oxide on MCM-41 matrix was also characterized by faded
of the typical absorption of MCM-41, which is Si-O-streching vibration and Si-O-Si
bending vibration on IR result.
