Abstract

ABSTRACT: Sweet potato is food sourch as the fourth largest of carbohydrates source after rice, corn and cassava which have a high level of productivity. This researce analyzes to determine the factors that influence sweet potato production, production efficiency and profitability of sweet potato farming. The basic method use in this research is descriptive analytic method with survey techniques. The method of determining the location is purposive in Tawangmangu sub-district with a sample size of 80 respondents. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of costs, profits, factor analysis with SPSS 25 and calculation of efficiency using Frontier 41c. The results showed that the factors affecting sweet potato production were land area, phonka fertilizer and organic fertilizer. Return to scale sweet potato farming 1.392> 1 so that it meets the rules of increasing return to scale (IRS). The average value of technical efficiency is 0.86 and allocative efficiency is 0.70, So the economic efficiency of 0.60. Sweet potato farming in Tawangmangu ssub-district has been technically and allocative efficient because the efficiency value is ≥0.70 but it is economically not efficient. The average sweet potato production is 5,536.86 kg / farm or 27,437.36 kg / ha with an average selling price of
IDR 3,346 to obtain an income of IDR 18,526,330 per farm or IDR 91,805,407 per hectare, the cost used is IDR 6,733,840 per farm Rp 34,716,870 per hectare, so that a profit of IDR. 11,891,587 per farm was IDR. 58,949,691 per hectare with an R / C of 2.79.
