Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the costs and benefits of broiler chicken breeders in Boyolali District, determine the level of production risk, price, and profit of broiler chicken farming, and managing the determined risk. The basic method of this research is descriptive and analysis. Determination of the location intentionally (purposive sampling). This research was conducted in Boyolali District which included two Subdistricts namely Nogosari Subdistrict and Simo Subdistrict. The respondents were taken by proportional random sampling. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis methods used are farm cost and profit analysis, production risk analysis, price risk analysis, and profit risk analysis. The analysis showed that the average total cost spent by broiler breeders in Boyolali was IDR 156,361,092.22. The average profit gained by broiler breeders in Boyolali Regency is IDR 19,946,301.01. The risk of production of broiler chicken farming for a population of 5855 in Boyolali is 0.67. The price risk of broiler chicken farming for the population of 5855 in Boyolali Regency is 0.012. The profit risk of broiler chicken farming for a population of 5855 in Boyolali Regency is 0.83. Risk management by breeders has followed the advice of the field extension workers from Partner Companies.
