Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the value of cost and profit of the tofu industry and the impact of social economic factors to industry’s profit. The basic research method is descriptive and analitic. Method of determining location is purposive. This study was conducted in Tidar Selatan Sub-District because of highest population based on Department of Industry and Trade 2018. The number of sample is determined by using Slovin’s Formula. Sampling by accidental sampling was 50 respondents. Analysis of the data is using: (1) cost and profit analysis; (2) social-economic factors analysis with multiple linear regression. The results of the business analysis indicate that the average cost incurred by producer’s tofu in Tidar Selatan Sub-Dsitrict, Magelang Selatan District, Magelang City on one month is Rp44.695.794,00, the revenue Rp55.927.800,00 per month, and the average profit is Rp11.232.006,00 per month. Socio-economic factors of  soybeand cost and business status have a positive effect and labor cost has a negative affect to the business’ profit in Tidar Selatan Sub-Dsitrict, Magelang Selatan District, Magelang City, while the experience business, formal education, age, and number family dependents do not affect the profit of business in Tidar Selatan Sub-Dsitrict, Magelang Selatan District, Magelang City.
