Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the magnitude of the proportion of food consumption expenditure, the level of energy and protein consumption, the relationship between the proportion of food consumption expenditure from total expenditure to the level of energy consumption, and the condition of food security of poor households in teak forest areas in Jepon District. The basic method used is descriptive analytical. Methods of data analysis include: (1) the proportion of food consumption expenditure to total expenditure; (2) the level of energy and protein consumption; (3) the relationship between the proportion of food consumption expenditure and the level of energy consumption; (4) food security. The results showed the proportion of food consumption expenditure to total expenditure of 78.9269%. The average energy and protein consumption is 6,273.82 kcal / household / day and 147,17 gram / household / day. The average Energy Consumption (TKE) rate is 68.65% and the average Protein Consumption Rate (TKP) of 61.22% is included in the deficit category. The proportion of food consumption expenditure has a significant relationship with energy and protein consumption. The correlation coefficient of energy and protein consumption of -0.507 and -0.374 shows a moderate and weak opposite relationship. The condition of food security of poor households in Jepon sub-district is categorized as food insecurity with a proportion of 86.67%. While the proportion of 6.67% included in the category of less food and 6.67% including food vulnerability.
