Abstract

Abstract : This study aimed to analyze the channel and marketing agencies, analyze cost, profit and marketing margins of sweet potato and know the most efficient marketing channel economically in Karanganyar district. The data analysis for this study are cost analysis, profit and marketing margins of sweet potato and efficiency analysis of marketing channel economically. The results of the study show that there are four marketing channel, I (Farmer à Middlemen à Wholesaler à Retailer à End Consumers), II (Farmer à Middlemen à Wholesaler à Consumers), III (Farmer à Middlemen à Consumers) and IV (Farmer à Consumers). Total cost of marketing at channel I is Rp.350/Kg, total profit Rp.650/Kg, and total marketing margin is Rp.1.000/Kg. Total cost of marketing at channel II is Rp.355/Kg, total profit Rp.145/Kg, dan total marketing margin is Rp.500/Kg. Total cost of marketing at channel III is Rp.325/Kg, total profit Rp.175/Kg, dan total marketing margin is Rp.500/Kg. Total cost of marketing at channel IV is Rp.130/Kg, total profit Rp.1.470/Kg, dan total marketing margin is Rp.0/Kg. From the economic analysis of marketing margin and farmer share, we found that the most efficient channel is channel IV.
