Deteksi Dini Prevalensi Gangguan Kesehatan Mental Mahasiswa di Perguruan Tinggi

Abstract


Menurut temuan Medical Center di salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Negeri terdapat 115 kasus gangguan kesehatan sedang dan berat dalam kurun waktu 2016-2019. Jumlah kasus tertinggi dialami klien pada rentang usia 21-23 tahun (mahasiswa semester tengah - semester akhir). Depresi dan gangguan kecemasan menjadi masalah psikologis tertinggi yang dihadapi mahasiswa. Sebanyak 29% (33 mahasiswa) mengalami gangguan kecemasan, 25% (29 mahasiswa) mengalami depresi dalam rentang ringan hingga berat, serta klasifikasi gangguan kesehatan mental lainnya yang memiliki dampak terhadap kehidupan akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan deteksi dini kesehatan mental serta mendapatkan pemetaan prevalensi dan distribusi status mental mahasiswa. Sejumlah 227 mahasiswa aktif menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini. Terdapat 2 skala yang digunakan yaitu Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) terdiri dari 21 aitem, Taylor Minnesota Anxiety Scale (TMAS) terdiri dari 50 aitem.                                                                                                                                                                                                         Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan dari 227 responden, permasalahan utama yang dihadapi berasal dari tuntutan akademik, seperti skripsi maupun tugas kuliah. Berdasarkan hasil skoring dan kategorisasi dari Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), diperoleh  sebanyak 26.9% (61 mahasiswa) mengalami depresi ringan, 18.5% (42 mahasiswa) mengalami depresi sedang, dan sebanyak 9.3% (21 mahasiswa) mengalami depresi berat atau ekstrem. Selanjutnya, sebanyak 86.8% (197 mahasiswa) mengalami kecemasan dalam kategori tinggi. Artikel ini akan mengulas bagaimana implikasi temuan ini terhadap sistem layanan kesehatan mental mahasiswa di kampus.
