MINI REVIEW: METODE SINTESIS, MODIFIKASI DAN KARAKTERISTIK POLIDIMETILSILOKSAN (PDMS)

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ilmu kimia material dan polimer sangat diminati untuk memperkaya kajian ilmu pengetahuan, upaya melindungi kelangsungan bumi dan aplikasi peralatan modern. Membran polidimetilsiloksan (PDMS) merupakan material polimer yang memiliki sifat non-toksisitas, hidrofobik tinggi, resistensi kimia, permeabilitas gas, transparansi optik, ramah lingkungan bukan merupakan bio-akumulasi, biaya rendah, kemampuan pencetakan yang baik, dan fleksibilitas yang tinggi. Kinerja Membran polidimetilsiloksan (PDMS) yang unggul terletak dalam morfologinya, pemilihan bahan dan teknik sintesis yang memiliki pengaruh signifikan pada morfologi membran. Hal ini menyebabkan optimalisasi kinerja membran harus berjalan melalui kontrol yang tepat dari interaksi antara morfologi, bahan, dan fabrikasi teknologi. Fokus penelitian terkait membrane polidimetilsiloksan (PDMS) tidak hanya pada material dan sintesis, melainkan sudah dilengkapi dengan karakteristik PDMS, modifikasi membran PDMS serta aplikasinya untuk berbagai bidang teknologi terapan. Kinerja membran polidimetilsiloksan (PDMS) dengan morfologi yang baik dilakukan dengan memodifikasi membrane untuk memperoleh karakteristik dan fungsi membran yang sesuai agar dapat tepat diapikasikan dalam teknologi.
