Pragmatic Languange Impairment Pada Remaja Bilingual
Abstract
Abstract: Observing language pragmatic impairment in teenager who grew up in bilingual are the focus of this study, based on the author's assumption that teenager who grew up bilingual tend to have difficulty of understanding the meaning of words or sentences in context and its role when communicating. In addition, in this study the authors willing to find if there are any differences in cognitive abilities between teenage who grew up in bilingual and monolingual, the relationship between bilingualism and language pragmatic impairment, and how adults who grew up bilingual adapted to language pragmatic impairment. List of symptoms that are suspected to causing of pragmatic impairment according to the DSM V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder) and diagnostic category by Bishop&Adams (1989) are used as a research instrument and interviewed to a teenage who grew up bilingual and lived in Bandung City, Indonesia. This research is using qualitative method. The results are published and presented by the author in the form of an descriptive narrative that explain the process of proving symptoms in the object of the research.
Abstrak: Meneliti gangguan berbahasa yaitu Pragmatic Language Impairment pada remaja dalam lingkungan bilingual menjadi fokus pada penelitian ini, Hal ini didasari oleh dugaan peneliti terhadap remaja yang tumbuh secara bilingual cenderung memiliki kesulitan memahami makna kata atau kalimat dalam konteks dan penggunaannya saat berkomunikasi. Selain itu dalam penelitian ini peneliti ingin mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan kemampuan berbahasa antara remaja yang tumbuh secara bilingual dan monolingual, kaitan antara bilingualisme dengan Pragmatic Language Impairment, juga bagaimana cara remaja yang tumbuh secara bilingual beradaptasi dengan gangguan berbahasa ini. Gejala yang diduga menjadi penyebab timbulnya gangguan pragmatik pada remaja yang tumbuh secara bilingual sesuai dengan metode DSM V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder) dan kategori diagnosa Semantic Pragmatic Disorder dari Bishop dan Adams (1989) menjadi instrumen penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara terhadap remaja yang tumbuh secara bilingual dan monolingual dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil dari wawancara dimuat dan dideskripsikan oleh peneliti dalam bentuk narasi deskriptif yang akan menjelaskan tentang proses pembuktian gejala pada objek penelitian, hingga dapat merepresentasikan hasil akhir dari penelitian iniKeywords
