PILIHAN DAN KESANTUNAN BAHASA NGRASANI ‘MEMBICARAKAN ORANG LAIN’ DALAM TRADISI REWANG PADA WANITA JAWA

Abstract

Javanese society especially in rural areas have different traditions still practiced today, one of which is a rewang tradition. Rewang in Javanese means helper, but in the context of a big event like a wedding, rewang meaningful community activities that help each other when it has the intent and function to maintain harmony and togetherness.

The purpose of writing this paper identifies the language of choice and politeness language ngrasani 'talk about others' in the rewang tradition Javanese women. Data in the research sample purposive sampling that is taking deliberate and random to find what is in accordance with the purpose of research.

The data collection is collected by tapping and taking note technique to ease grouping data. This study uses sosiopragmatik approach. Methods for analyzing the data that is interactive model analysis techniques, starting from data collection, data reduction and drawing conclusions.

The choice of the language used by the women of Java when ngrasani 'talk about others' in the rewang tradition of the Java language diversity ngoko and krama manners by utilizing aspects of code switching, code-mixing and language variation. Politeness used by the women of Java when ngrasani 'talk about others' in the tradition rewang which looks at the language and choice of words used, words hearer greeting positioned in a high position, low intonation.
