ARGUMEN AKTOR DAN PEMETAAN FUNGSI DALAM BAHASA JAWA

Murdiyanto Murdiyanto

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the actor properties, the actor syntactic properties, the actor role realization, the argument structural position, and the argument function mapping of Javanese actors. This study used qualitative approach with lexical functional grammar. The results of this study as follow: First, the core arguments of Javanese language were not marked neither morphological nor syntactic marking. In contrast, the non-core arguments were marked syntactically using preposition dening 'by'. Preposition dening 'by' was as the passive markers of Javanese language. Second, the actor semantic role of Javanese language consisted of animate and inanimate actors. The thematic roles as the filler role of Javanese language actor were thematic role agent, experience, effector, recipient, beneficiary, source, and theme. Third, the actor argument position in the constituent structure was on the left position of verb, on the position specifier Inflectional Phrase canonical clause or Subject Verb Object (SVO) pattern. Fourth, the actor as core argument was objectified to the highest grammatical functions Subject (SUBJ), while the actor as non-core argument was objectified to grammatical functions Oblique (OBL) as the lowest function in the grammatical functions hierarchy. Fifth, an actor in active clause, both transitive and intransitive, was mapped to the grammatical function SUBJ, with features [-r] and [-o], whereas in passive clause, actor was mapped to grammatical functions OBL with the features [+ r] and [-o]
