ANALISIS SEMIOTIK TRIKOTOMI PEIRCE TERHADAP MANGA HAI MIIKO! SERI 14 – BELAJAR ITU BERAT!

Abstract

Miiko is a manga character from a quite popular manga called “Hai Miiko!” literary adapted from Japanese manga “Koochi Muitte! Miiko”. This manga story takes place between daily life of a 5th grades school girl which have a cheerful and bright personality, named Miiko Yamada. This manga also quite well known in Indonesian girl teenager, up to the writer –Eriko Ono – held a fan sign in Jakarta. The writer here assumes that the popularity of Hai Miiko! Is due to the uniqueness of Miiko character which differ her from other characters. Moreover this manga have social message which deliver lightly to teenager reader. This is why the writer intend to analyzes “Hai Miiko! Seri 14 – Belajar itu Berat!”. The writer wanted to know how the writer of this manga deliver the social message into Miiko character, how the writer of this manga comes up with the story which suitable and could appeal the target reader, and wether the target reader could grasp the message inside the story. The writer here use Pierce trichotomy semiotic model in order to analyze verbal and non verbal signs that exist in the story. Where the semiosis meaning process are consist of three stages which done continually. The analysis is performed based on the types of its data, verbal and non verbal. The verbal signs consist of text of speech of Miiko, and non verbal signs consist of gesture and bubble text. Based on those data, the semiotic signs are expected to understand differently based on background knowledge and experiances of the reader.
