BAHASA MEDIA UNTUK MENGURANGI KONFLIK

Abstract

This paper discusses the language of media to lessen the potency of conflict. In reporting news, the reporter might use some means of language devices to create peace journalism. The media can play a significant role to create peace of the society. Creating peace journalism is very significant in Indonesia due to the fact that Indonesia is complex country in terms of religion, ethnics and social group. This paper examines the kinds of language devices used to lessen the conflict and to create peace of the society. The result shows that some media do not consistently employ the language devices to reduce the potency of conflict.
