Analisa Potensi Gugus Hydroxyl Pada Limbah Cair Kelapa Sawit (Palm Oil Mill Effluent) Sebagai Pewarna Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell

Abstract

DSSC adalah sel surya generasi ketiga sebagai pengganti sel surya konvensional berbahan silikon karena fabrikasi yang mudah dan murah. Salah satu komponen yang penting dalam DSSC adalah dye (pewarna pensensitasi) karena perannya dalam transfer elektron. Dye yang paling umum digunakan adalah ruthenium kompleks yang menghasilkan efisiensi tinggi namun berharga mahal dan terbatas. Pewarna alami dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pengganti dari ruthenium kompleks karena harga yang murah, ramah lingkungan dan melimpah. Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) sebagai material organik limbah cair kelapa sawit yang masih belum banyak termanfaatkan. Studi ini membahas potensi pemanfaatan Palm Oil Mill Effluent sebagai dye pada DSSC sehingga menjadi material yang berdaya guna. Kandungan POME melalui uji Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) pada penelitian yang telah dilakukan dibandingkan dengan uji Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) pada penelitian dye alami yang berasal dari tumbuhan dengan memperhatikan ikatan gugus beserta parameter kinerja sel surya. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan peluang (POME) sebagai dye (pewarna pensensitasi) pada DSSC.
