| 4. | Description | Abstract | This study aimed to identify and analyze phonological errors made by foreign speakers in the sitcom Kelas Internasional. The findings revealed three major types of phonological errors: phoneme omission, phoneme addition, and phoneme substitution. Among these, phoneme substitution occurred most frequently, followed by omission and addition. These errors are not merely mechanical but indicate the cognitive and articulatory strategies learners employ during second language acquisition. Phoneme omission was often related to working memory limitations and cognitive load, while phoneme addition reflected compensatory articulation strategies. Phoneme substitution was closely linked to the influence of the learners’ first language phonological system. This study contributes to the understanding of interlanguage phonology and highlights the importance of psycholinguistic perspectives in second language learning, particularly regarding the stabilization of phonological representations in foreign speakers. |
